- Instructor will furnish pattern, graphite paper, paints, stains & 2 required 3/32 sized stump cutter bits, which have been mofified by her. The cost of the Seminar includes an approximately 12-inch vase turned by Stacy.
Supplies Needed
- Students will need a micromotor, all of your bits, burrs, a dust collector, a sanding device of your choice, & possiblely a light. You will also need your favorite paint brushes, & a water bowl.
Ginkgo Leaf Vase (Power Carved)
Welcome a new instructor to TWG, Stacy L. Irish. This Seminar will be a ginkgo leaf vase, power carved on a 12-14 inch vase, which varies in the species from cottonwood to maple to aspen. The Seminar fee includes one vase, usually with the option to buy another, depending on the current availability. Her power carving classes, using her own turned vases, are a fast paced and fun experience, whether you are an experienced carver, or have never carved before. Stacy states the techniques you will learn with the two bits she provides you in class, make the possibilities unlimited! Students will finish the project in the Seminar by painting and instructions on how to finish with poly or lacquer at home. A more detailed student letter will be mailed to students prior to the Seminar, just in case something needs to be purchased. Although Stacy's subject matters varies quite a bit, she does enjoy teaching realistic animals.
