Spoon Carving

Welcome Kent Young here from Boulder, CO. He is new to the TWG Round-up! Kent learned to carve spoons over 50 years ago when he was intrigued watching spoon carving in New Hampshire. He has been carving them ever since. In 2013, Kent was chosen to participate in the Visiting Artist program offered by Boulder County. One of his spoons was featured on the cover of "Edible New Mexico" magazine. See his works on Facebook at "Kent Young Spoons" and on Pinterest at "Hand Carved Wooden Spoons". The Seminar will begin with spoon carving history & a discussion about wood preferences & essential tools & tool safety. Each student will begin with a cherrywood blank & leave with a completed & ready-to-use in the kitchen spoon. Throughout the Seminar, Kent will share tips & techniques for efficiently creating a beautiful spoon in a matter of just a few hours. The full cost of the Seminar is $75, due at the beginning of each Seminar. Note: Cost of blank is included in Seminar price. This Seminar is perfect for intermediate students, but all skill levels are welcome! Questions can be directed to Kent at kentcyoung@yahoo.com or by calling 303-447-9378. There is no minimal requirement for this Seminar!
