Show Overview

 



The Carving Competition is held Saturday.


Carvings will be accepted Friday, April 17th beginning at 1pm and ending at 5pm.
This is the day before the competition.

Carvings will be accepted Saturday, April 18th beginning at 7am and ending at 9am.

The Carving Competition judging will begin on Saturday at 9:15am.


The Show Packet is available now!


The Show Packet will include the required Entry Forms for each carving entered in the Competition.
The packet also includes an overview of the Show Process and the Tax and Liability Form that must be signed and returned with your entry registrations.

The Show Packet will also be available for downloaded from the TWG website under Competiton, Show Packet.

Show Competition Rules


The complete Rules will be available prior to Regisration.  Please review the rules for all the details concerning categories and awards, as well as the
Table Registration Form and the Entry Form for State Competition.

AWARDS


1st, 2nd, and 3rd place Pins will be awarded for Novice, Intermediate, and 
Open category winners.
 
Plaques will be awarded in several categories, including Open Merit Awards.
 
Cash awards will be given for major Show winners, such as the “Best Of” categories.

NEWS ABOUT OUR MEMBERS


JoAn Brueggeman, who was among the founding members of TWG, will be buried on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at 2 PM, at Forest Park Cemetery, 6900 Lawndale, Houston, Texas.  H. Havemann 4-2-2026

Vera Bang, life member of the Texas Woodcarvers Guild, passed away on December 11, 2025. Our deepest sympathy goes to her spouse Bill Bang.  H. Havemann 12-22-2025

Rita Ryser, a long time member of the Texas Woodcarvers Guild and a current member of the Houston Area Woodcarvers, passed away November 18, 2025. Rita was a trained nurse and served TWG for numerous years administering first aid to many woodcarvers who had accidents during RoundUp. Rita was known for her outstanding chip carving skills and won many awards at the TWG shows. H. Havemann 11-20-2025

Betty Giese, a long time member of the Texas Woodcarvers Guild and the Central Texas Woodcarvers passed away on August 7, 2025. H. Havemann 8-9-2025

It is with a heavy heart we announce the passing of our long time member Gene Qualls from the Alamo Area Woodcarvers Club. He will be missed but is now at peace after a long fought battle. A. McNulty 4-17-25
